Welcome

The objective of this blog is to provide readers a forum for their opinions regarding where to eat in Costa Rica. The blog will be blunt, to the point, honest, and hopefully fair.

The result is to find restaurants where you can enjoy the food and environment without regard to being trendy, touristy, or "local".

In the process some restaurants may feel they were unjustly (or justly) reviewed. Make the point in responding and updates may be reflected in updated reveiws.

Become a follower and receive the latest updates automatically without having to visit the site.

Enjoy and eat your heart out.

Machu Pichu - San Jose , Paseo Colon – Peruvian

A nice Peruvian restaurant, not my favorite but all around reasonable.  A tribute to their third place finish - congratulations Peru.  Price is fair, worth a try.   In business for at least the past 20 years which says a lot.  Location is a little odd considering it is located near Central San Jose.  Parking is adjacent with a “watch man".  Considering everything, this place is OK.

Nikklas - Gyros and Hummus - South Sabana - San Jose – Greek

We have been coming to Nikklas’s restaurant since it opened and will continue to come.  The lamb wraps are excellent, the vege burger uniquely tasty and the hummus is the best for a restaurant in Costa Rica.  If your looking for a good Sunday afternoon Greek fix this is the place.

INKA Grill - Santa Ana and Escazu, Costa Rica - Peruvian

No need to try unless you want to take some risk.  I have “black listed” this restaurant and will not try again unless “strongly encouraged”.  Food poisoning, flavors in general are nothing special.  I’ll find a better Peruvian for a future review (see below for alternatives).
